The software landscape of our world is fast moving. If you look back even five years ago, it’s amazing how much has changed. Microsoft is clearly the big giant of the software world. They make all of the software we know and love, things like Windows, Office, and Outlook. Their success is so impressive, they’ve become ubiquitous. I cannot think of a single person that doesn’t have a computer powered by windows.

I’m switching back to the copy of Windows 2000 server I bought $1,000 back in the day. Screw all this Linux stuff. Linux isn’t good for anything anyway.
Crap, it’s past noon :/
Tonight I installed Fedora Core 6. Here are my first impressions. First the installer was very easy to use, but it wasn’t a livecd which I’ve come to take for granted. At my new job I’m itching to start rolling on a Gentoo box… my days on win32 are almost over! I’ve been working on a shiny new image for the past few days. Tonight I rolled it into a stage4 tarball and installed it on a new 100g Seagate disk. Tomorrow morning I’ll finally have a nice Linux box to work with.
Earlier today I was talking to Jaisen who’s adding ethernet throttling support to his gear.
