We were worried about the chickens so we brought them inside hoping that would help them. The weather was also so bad that the shelves were empty at the grocery. Meh.
It was like 103 degrees outside, and so much smoke in the air a respirator was required to go outside safely. We mostly spent time in a single small room, with a portable air conditioner. It was miserable.
Here we had neighbors donate old milk containers so we could try to freeze ice blocks for the poor chickens (who had no where to escape the heat and smoke).
This is the 6th time I have carried what remains of this Alder tree. The only reason I’m even doing this is because I’m stubborn ;)
